Team Managers & Parent Representatives



HOUSE LEAGUE

The primary purpose of a Team Manager or Parent Representative is to provide an unbiased liaison between the parents or the players and the Head Coach or the Association. This person shall also provide administrative support to the Head Coach and other coaching staff concerning off-ice matters.

All Team Managers must have, at a minimum, a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC) and Speak Out certification.

Parent Reps are not required to have Speak Out certification nor a Police Clearance. Parent Reps are not part of the official team roster.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

green bullet Be familiar with BLOMHA's, ALLIANCE Hockey's and the Ontario Hockey Federation's Constitutions and By-Laws and Policies.
green bullet Discuss with Head Coach his/her philosophy for managing the team, how it fits with BLOMHA's policies and how best to relate this philosophy to the parents and players.
green bullet Assist Head Coach in obtaining and completing requisite team official, trainer and player information according to BLOMHA's timelines, i.e., police clearances, certification numbers, medical forms, equipment checklists, etc.
green bullet Soliciting other parents to be timekeepers or game sheet recorders.
green bullet Assisting with tournament entry requirements for the team.
green bullet Assisting with the collection and management of monies for various team activities and the submission of financial statements to BLOMHA.
green bullet Assist with the dissemination of any team information, i.e., schedule changes, drink lists, picture day, etc.

BLOMHA periodically holds clinics at the office for the Speak Out certification. If there are no clinics listed visit the ALLIANCE Hockey website for dates and times of clinics in our surrounding area.


HOW TO APPLY

Applications for the 2009/2010 season will be available at the BLOMHA office or for download under Applications & Forms. Applications must be submitted to the office in person, preferably before June 30, 2009. No facsimiles will be accepted.
