BULLDOG REP A and REP MD TEAMS
This program is part of BLOMHA's on-going commitment to develop in-house resources for our coaches, and broaden the scope of coaching for the team. With this in mind, and recognizing that the position of goaltender is unique, we have mandated that each team have a designated goalie coach, who will work with the goalies separately from the team and together with the team.
The purpose of this program is to have one person dedicated to assessing the goalies during games and then being able to come to the practices and candidly discuss their performances and work with them on developing their strengths and addressing their weaknesses through specific drills.
To make this initiative work, BLOMHA has engaged an individual with extensive goaltending experience to come out and work with the head coaches, goalie coaches and goalies throughout the season. Goalie coaches will be provided with outlines of basic skills and drills that are required to be taught and cover the many techniques and technical aspects of being a goalie.
The success of this program when properly managed and embraced will extend to the entire team. A goalie's role on the team is pivotal and the purpose of this program is to grow all of the goalies' confidence levels, encourage them to develop their own styles and above all make their experience with BLOMHA fun!
