Committees – HLC & Disciplinary

HOUSE LEAGUE COMMITTEE (HLC)

The HLC is comprised of the following people:

President, Past President, Directors of House League, Technical Directors of Coaches/Trainers
and one House League Assistant Director appointed by the Board of Directors.
 
The Committee meets approximately once every three weeks to review the progress of the season and address any issues that may arise based on the Committee's duties as stated below.

green bullet The Committee will allocate the number of teams in each division, depending on the number of players available.
green bullet The Committee will determine the evaluation system of players to be used and appoint the evaluators.
green bullet The Committee will appoint all coaches for each division.
green bullet The Committee can make recommendations for changes to BLOMHA By-laws to the Board of Directors for a trial period during the season. A recommendation may then be made to the general membership at the Annual General Meeting to change the proposed by-law if applicable.
green bullet The Committee will review applications for Assistant Directors and appoint same.
green bullet The Committee will review standings prior to the playoffs and determine structure of divisions, i.e. top eight/bottom six or top six/bottom eight. Input will be solicited from the Assistant Directors.
green bullet The Committee will approve all coach of the year awards and any individual awards for players that may be presented.
green bullet The Committee will assign all players to House League teams and approve said Alliance Roster Forms.
green bullet The Committee will approve any additional player(s) to rosters for tournament purposes.
green bullet The Committee is responsible for player(s) movement to a higher or lower division. However, the circumstances must be extremely unusual.


DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE

The President or Designate is the Chairman of the Committee, but shall be ex-officio (non-voting). The Disciplinary Committee shall be comprised of the following people:

green bullet Two Coaches, Assistant Coaches or Managers of a BLOMHA team
green bullet Two volunteer parents with no other capacity in BLOMHA, but with a child registered in BLOMHA
green bullet The Referee-In-Chief or Designate

All Designates to be approved by the Board of Directors.

Members designated shall serve, provided they have no interest in the issue at hand, such as being from the same division as the person(s) appearing before the Committee.

The Committee deals with all discipline matters involving players, team officials or parents. The Committee could meet as often as two or three times a month depending on the number of hearings required.
