HEAD COACHES – House League and Rep A/MD
All Head Coaches from Tyke to Midget must have the following certification, at a minimum, and provide valid and proper documentation to apply for a coaching position.
Level I National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certificate or equivalent
Respect in Sport (Speak Out) certification. Online course
Current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC)
Must be at least 18 years of age
All Head Coaches in the 4/5 Development Program are required to take the coaching clinic run by BLOMHA, take the Respect in Sport (Speak Ou)t certification and have a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Be familiar with BLOMHA's, ALLIANCE Hockey's and the Ontario Hockey Federation's Constitutions and By-Laws and Policies, as the Head Coach is ultimately accountable for all team activities and team officials.
Handing in of team paperwork in accordance to dates as set out by BLOMHA.
Attendance at all Head Coaches' meetings.

BLOMHA periodically holds clinics at the office for the training required by Head Coaches. If there are no clinics listed visit the ALLIANCE Hockey website for dates and times of clinics in our surrounding area.
Certification Fee
BLOMHA will cover one half of the cost for a Level 1 certification. If you elect to volunteer as a Head Coach again the following season, you can apply to be reimbursed for the other half of the cost.
ASSISTANT COACHES – House League and Rep A/MD
All Assistant Coaches from Tyke to Midget must have the following certification, at a minimum, and provide valid and proper documentation to apply for an assistant coaching position.
Respect in Sport (Speak Ou)t certification
Current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC)
Must be at least 16 years of age
For Rep A/MD ONLY Level I National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certificate or equivalent Development Stream 1(DS1).
All Assistant Coaches in the 4/5 Development Program must take the Respect in Sport (Speak Out) certification online and have a current Vulnerable Sector Screening Police Clearance (VSSPC).
While it is not required that an Assistant Coach have a Level 1 NCCP certification, you may want to take the course in the event that you decide to be a Head Coach in the future.

HOW TO APPLY
Applications for the 2010-2011 season will be available at the BLOMHA office or for download under Applications & Forms. Applications must be submitted to the office in person, preferably before June 30, 2010.
