BLOMHA holds certification clinics at the office for House League Coaches, Trainers, and other Team Officials as well as our general volunteer base. Other non-certification clinics, seminars and workshops deemed valuable to our volunteers are also held at the office or advertised on this page.

If there are no certification clinics listed here or you wish/need to take a clinic sooner please visit the ALLIANCE Hockey website for dates and times of clinics in our surrounding area.

All certification clinics require pre-registration. Registration forms for those held at the BLOMHA office are available here on the site and at the BLOMHA office. Completed forms along with payment are to be handed into the BLOMHA office no later than one week prior to the clinic date.

Speak Out Program

Saturday, September 26,2009  Times: 8:00am-12:00pm and 12:30pm-4:30pm
Wednesday, October 14,2009  Time:6:00pm-10:00pm

Speak Out is a four-hour interactive workshop focusing on the awareness and prevention of harassment and abuse in the game of hockey.

All Team Officials are required to have participated in a workshop before they can be active with a team. This includes Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers and Managers.

This program gives the participants effective tools to recognize and deal with topics such as:

Definitions of abuse and harassment
Responding to disclosures
Showers and locker rooms
Transporting of participants
Injured and ill children
Road trips
Integrated teams
Prevention guidelines for playing
Prevention of harassment and abuse during competition
Fair Play Codes

You will be issued a certification number once you have successfully completed the workshop. This certification is valid for the duration of your volunteerism in our organization.

For coaches please note that Speak Out is integrated into Coach certification training.
